Each month the club sponsors a member's star party dubbed the Deep Sky Star Party.
This event is held on the Saturday closest to new moon at a remote site southwest of Phoenix off of Vekol Road. This site is darker than the local site, but is still only about a 90 minute drive from most East Valley locations. If you are interested in deep sky observing, astrophotography or just want darker skies, this is the place for you!
Please note that while some folks may head out to the Vekol Road site in October, the official dark sky event for that month is the All-Arizona Star Party at Farnsworth Ranch. Details here:

Naturally, these events are held weather permitting.
